Paris

Back from a few days in Paris, where we rented a beautiful apartment in Montmartre. Typically, I had flu the week before, so spent the first two days in the haze of a high temperature, hot flushes and insomnia, though cooling 3am walks around the Sacre Coeur admittedly made it a little more bearable. As did A.P.C. on Rue des Madames, the hat shop La Cerise Sur Le Chapeau, where you can choose the size, shape and material of your ideal hat and select the grosgrain ribbons and trims from overflowing wicker baskets of pastel coloured ribbons and by the evening the hat will be made up for you by the milliners – and Le Dan Bau on Rue Des Trois Freres, where we had the best Vietnamese food I have ever eaten in a small room with bamboo wallpaper to the soundtrack of one of my favourite films, In the Mood For Love.
